چکیده
One of the indicators land productivity assessment is soil fertility. The causes infertile have been widely reported. This study aimed to evaluate fertility using Soil Fertility Capability Classification (SFCC) approach and determine relationship between morphological physiochemical properties research was conducted in North Galela Sub-district, Halmahera Regency. framework began with interpretation thematic maps, surveys, field observations, making evaluation maps. sampling carried out based on stratified random method supported by laboratory measurements according USDA international standards. result showed that area had 14 statuses. classes having most significant limiting factor were loamy texture (Ø<0.002 mm), rock surface, gravel subsoil, moderate salinity (0.2-0.4 mS cm-1), low exchangeable K (<20 cmol(+) kg-1), sloping slope (8%) Lithic Haprendolls type subsoil >15% outcrop, (0.2-0,4 Na saturation >15%, a rather steep (14%) Eutrudepts type. Both these top layer texture, bottom contains clay <35%, factors hard inhibiting root depth 50 cm, extremely nutrient reserve, electrical conductivity (EC) high Na. found Sub-district root-restricting layer, K, conductivity, saturation, slope, gravel.

amounts involved are much smaller. The amount of boron in the 7-ton potato crop (if determined) would have been about 0.2 pound. In the case of boron (and to a lesser degree the other micronutrients) if the soil contains excessive amounts, toxic quantities are absorbed by plants and growth is restricted. The need for a reasonable balance in amounts of available nutrients in the soil has been po...

Fertilizers that are essentially sulfurfree have been used increasingly. Ammonium nitrate, anhydrous ammonia, urea, and ammonia solutions are examples among the nitrogen carriers. The use of concentrated superphosphate and other phosphorus carriers with little sulfur has been expanding. We recommend that farmers in areas of potential deficiency should have a planned program of adding sulfur ins...

variety of crops. Pot tests indicated that addition of about 200 p.p.m. of copper from copper sulfate produced a toxic reaction in soils low in copper, but otherwise comparable to Alsatian vineyard soils, which were found to contain as much as 400 p.p.m. of copper. Among the crops tested, vines were most resistant to copper toxicity; clover and alfalfa were most sensitive. Symptoms of copper po...

If all resources are harnessed, and adequate measures taken to minimize soil degradation, sufficient food to feed the population in 2020 can be produced, and probably sufficient for a few billion more. These were the key conclusions from a Discussion Meeting held at the Royal Society in London in December 1996. The meeting entitled ‘Land resources: on the edge of the Malthusian precipice?’ atte...

field study was conducted at five villages of Botswana namely, Tsabong, Tshane, Mathathane, Motlhabaneng and Tsetsejwe during the periods of June to August 1999 and June to August 2000. The objective of the study was to assess and compare the soil physicochemical properties of soils at the five villages and to study the effect of cultivation on some soil physical properties. Parameters measured...
